This list is Part 3 of a series; it’s intended to follow on from Part 1 (the intro to contemporary food writing), and Part 2 (the list of food writers).
It’s also what this was meant to be before I derailed myself.

And, here is an example of the music I was listening to while putting the list together in order to demonstrate the boisterous mood I was in (watch the video, if you can - Phil Collins and his band are hilarious / iconic to watch).
*
Favourites already mentioned in the first food writing list:
From the Desk of Alicia Kennedy (as of 2024, excitingly, accepting pitches and publishing new/established voices).
Feminist Food Journal (accepts pitches, publishes new/established).
Vittles (accepts pitches, publishes new/established).

Useful websites / sections of websites I often dip into for inspiration / ideas / reminders of why I love food when I can’t remember:
*
*
More online options (newsletters / magazines) for food writing - thought-provoking essays / inspiration / escapism / recipes:
(I need to better acquaint myself with these before designation of ‘favourite’ can be honestly bestowed, but they’re ones that I’ve dipped into, and to which I subscribed at one time because my interest was piqued. When I do familiarise myself more thoroughly, I’ll break this list down more, and group together similar ones etc.)

Italy
A specialty coffee section

Magazines
well-known
The Passenger (not just food writing, but can include some).
*
the still nascent field of contemporary Irish food writing:
More will surely be added over time, because I don’t appear to have the self-restraint required to not jump on the bandwagon, whether briefly or long-lasting, of each new intriguing food writing outlet. Also over time, I will find opportunity and space to dive into the back catalogue of more of these, and I’m very much looking forward to that.
